— From Henderson Police Chief Marcus Barrow
At approximately 7:45 p.m. (on Thursday, May 28, 2026), officers with the Henderson Police Department’s Operations Division located and arrested Jamari Speed, 18, of Vance County, for the homicide of 76-year-old Willie Satterfield, which occurred on Saturday, May 9, 2026 on Lamb Street (in North Henderson).
The Henderson Police Department’s Investigation Division has worked diligently throughout this investigation to identify and apprehend the individual responsible for this heinous act. We greatly appreciate the cooperation and assistance provided by members of our community during this investigation.
