N.C. Gov. Josh Stein has scheduled a visit to Vance County in late April as part of a group of ongoing listening sessions in the state’s rural communities.
Stein will come to Vance County on Wednesday, April 29. No further details were included in the information from the governor’s office.
According to information about the dozen or so listening sessions – the first one was this past Monday in McDowell County – there are more than 3.5 million people living in rural areas of the state. Seventy-eight of the state’s 100 counties are considered rural, including Vance.
The state’s rural communities are strong contributors to the economy and culture, and drive the state’s growth through agriculture, manufacturing, tourism and more.
