Henderson, NC – Criminal Superior Trial Court was held during the week of February 8, 2016, in Vance County. The following cases were disposed of by plea agreement:
Antonio Crudup plead to one count of Felony Possession of Marijuana, as a result of the September 10, 2014 service of a search warrant by officers of the Henderson Police Department. Crudup received a 5 to 15 month sentence which was suspended for 18 months of supervised probation.
Pauline Champion plead to Involuntary Manslaughter and Reckless Driving to Endanger arising out of an offense that occurred on October 7, 2014. Champion was sentenced to a 16 to 29 month sentence which was suspended for 48 months of supervised probation. She was also ordered to make restitution to the victims’ families. This case was investigated by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
James and Tonya Tunstall each plead to Possessing a Methamphetamine Precursor, Distributing a Methamphetamine Precursor and Misdemeanor Child Abuse. Both received two consecutive sentences of 15 to 27 months plus 150 days. Vance County Sheriffs deputies were assisting social workers with the Department of Social Services on October 24, 2014, when the violations were discovered.
Jim Robinson received an active sentence of 20 to 33 months plus 25 to 39 months consecutive, for his involvement in a robbery of the Payless Shoe Store on December 22, 2014. Robinson plead to Driving While Impaired, Common Law Robbery and Felony Flee to Elude Arrest. Officers with the Henderson Police Department were assisted by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the Vance County Sheriffs Office.
Marquel Epps plead to Misdemeanor Breaking and Entering and Larceny, and received 90 days suspended for one year of supervised probation. These charges arose from a March 9, 2015 incident investigated by the Vance County Sheriffs Office.
Cytrina Perry plead to Felonious Habitual Larceny, Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Hit and Run. Perry was sentenced to 10 to 21 months suspended for 24 months supervised probation. She must also make restitution to the victim. These charges resulted from an investigation by Henderson Police Department of a June 18, 2014 incident at Walmart.
Adrian Espino received 12 months of probation for his conviction of Resisting an Officer when he ran from officers with the Henderson Police Department on February 4, 2013.
William Mayfield plead to Possession of a Firearm by a Felon_ Mayfield received a 19 to 32 month sentence that was suspended with a split sentence to serve 180 days in NCDAC, after officers with the Henderson Police Department found Mayfield with a gun on October 26, 2014.
Zenobia Richardson received a 7 to 18 month sentence for larceny after removing anti-theft devices from clothing items on November 11, 2014. This case was investigated by officers with the Henderson Police Department.
Tasha Durham received 120 days suspended for 12 months supervised probation after she plead to Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods. Officers with the Henderson Police Department investigated the January 1, 2015 incident.
Mark Crudup plead to Felony Flee to Elude Arrest and Possession of a Firearm by a felon after he was arrested by members of the Henderson Police Department for the October 16, 2014 incident. Crudup’s 17 to 30 month sentence was suspended for 24 months supervised probation. Crudup will have to spend 20 weekends in jail and will have a curfew.
