The Henderson Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on the evening of January 20, 2026, leaving three individuals, including an infant, injured.
At approximately 8:53 PM, officers responded to a report of shots fired within the 100 block of Wester Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers discovered three victims inside a white four-door vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victims have been identified as a 24-year-old Quincy Rodwell, 24-year-old Kenya Knott, and 7-month-old infant.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victims were parked in front of a residence when a dark-colored SUV pulled alongside their vehicle.
Occupants of the SUV opened fire into the victims’ car before fleeing the scene toward East Winder Street.
Kenya Knott and the infant were transported to an area medical facility. Both are currently reported to be alert and aware.
Quincy Rodwell, who was also struck, refused medical treatment at the scene and departed shortly after.
The Henderson Police Department is being assisted by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
This remains an active investigation, and authorities are working to identify the suspects and vehicle involved.
