On Wednesday, December 23, 2015, members of the Henderson Police Department arrested Cadarius Rhasda Caldwell on federal firearms related charges. He has been indicted on one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. Caldwell was placed in the Vance County Jail without privilege of bond pending transfer of custody to the United States Marshall Service.
On Thursday, December 31, 2015, Saquan Javar Alexander surrendered himself to authorities in Raleigh in regards to the same matter. Alexander was also indicted on one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. He remains in the custody of the United States Marshall Service.
Charges in this matter arose after Alexander and Caldwell were found in possession of a firearm and ammunition after a traffic stop in Oxford on April 16, 2015. The investigation into this matter was conducted by the Oxford Police Department, Henderson Police Department Special Operations Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. These are the latest arrests as the Henderson Police Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives continue to investigate violent crime in the Henderson and Vance County area.
