On February 9, 2026, at approximately 9:40 p.m., the Vance County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service at 71 Torri Drive in Henderson, North Carolina, in reference to two deceased individuals.
Upon arrival, deputies located two juvenile victims, ages 13 and 17, who were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Vance County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division initiated an investigation and worked in coordination with the Vance County Department of Social Services, the Vance County District Attorney’s Office, and the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
As a result of the investigation, Aron Newsome, 46 years old, the father of the two deceased juveniles, has been charged with:
On March 21st, 2026, Aron Newsome was taken into custody by the Vance County Sheriff’s Office is being held without bond at the Vance County Detention Center.
The Vance County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office C.A.A.T, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Criminal Apprehension Team for their assistance in the apprehension of Aron Newsome.
