The Local Skinny! Perry Memorial Library Activities Heating Up As Summer Approaches

Perry Memorial Library

Perry Memorial Library’s summer reading program kicks off Tuesday afternoon, setting in motion a whole range of activities that will provide plenty of opportunities for patrons young and not-so-young to enjoy the library.

Youth Services Librarian Melody Peters invites families to stop by on Sunday, June 22 and Sunday, July 23 for Family Storytime. There will be stories and songs and a craft activity that will suit all ages, Peters said. The Family Storytime begins at 3:30 p.m.

The theme for Tuesday, June 24 is animals!

The library welcomes “Zoo on the MOOVE” at 11 a.m. This family owned and operated mobile petting zoo will surely delight all ages. This fully interactive animal experience is designed to provide exciting entertainment for children and adults alike.

Later that afternoon, the Vance County Animal Shelter staff is stopping by with some lovable – and adoptable – critters. They’ll be at the library at 4 p.m. Stop by and give these animals a little love and attention!
