City of Oxford Commissioners to Hold Agenda Meeting Oct. 1

The City of Oxford Board of Commissioners will hold an agenda meeting on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room, City Hall.

Among the agenda items:

  • Gift certificate drawings for the 2018 Yard of the Month
  • Set the agenda for the Tuesday, October 9, 2018, Regular Session

The Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room, City Hall for their regular October meeting.

Rezoning/Revitalization Among Topics of Upcoming Oxford Commissioners’ Meeting

The City of Oxford Board of Commissioners will hold their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room, City Hall.

Agenda items include:

Recognition – September Yard of the Month.

Public hearing and consideration for a request by T. Chase Massey, PE and Eddie Caudle Jr., landowner for rezoning of 2309 NC Highway 96 consisting of 88+/- acres from I-1 (prime-industrial) to R-8 (1 & 2 family residential).

Public hearing to hear input with regards to the City of Oxford submitting an application for the 2018 Neighborhood Revitalization CDBG Project.

Adopt a resolution authorizing the City of Oxford to submit an application for the 2018 Neighborhood Revitalization CDBG Project.

Consider calling for a public hearing at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, in the Commissioners’ Board Room, 3rd Floor, City Hall, 300 Williamsboro Street, Oxford, NC, to receive input from the public regarding the City of Oxford seeking a $500,000 loan in order to repair City streets.

Approve the final listing of streets to be repaired in conjunction with the DOT repairs that are scheduled to begin in 2019.

Consider applicants for the Henderson-Oxford-Granville-Vance Airport Authority Board for a 2-year term expiring July 2020.

Consider applicants for the Oxford Housing Authority for a five-year term that expires September 2023.

Adopt a resolution for the City Clerk to investigate the sufficiency of the petition for a contiguous annexation of 37 acres located on New Commerce Drive and certify its sufficiency. The requested petition for annexation is for a site that abuts the City of Oxford’s wastewater treatment facility. The request is required for connecting to the city’s water and sewer.

 

Oxford Board of Commissioners’ Regular Meeting Scheduled for Tues., Aug. 14

The City of Oxford Board of Commissioners will hold their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room, City Hall.

Agenda items include:

Recognition – August Yard of the Month – Randy Witt.

Presentation from Charlie Yokley with McAdams regarding the UDO creation.

Presentation from Reed Barton and Bill Dowbiggin with CDM Smith regarding the work that is taking place at the Kerr Lake Regional Water Treatment plant.

Consider approving a contract with WithersRavenel for providing PE design services for Phase II & III for the CMAQ project.

Call for a public hearing to be held at the regular Board meeting for September 11, 2018, for the rezoning request of 2309 Highway 96 of approximately 86-acre parcel from Industrial – 1 (Prime Industrial) to R-8 (1 & 2 family residential).

Consider carrying over $19,000 that was in the HPC budget for the Mary Potter Grant application FY 18.

Oxford Board to Discuss Street Resurfacing/Parking at Monday’s Agenda Meeting

The City of Oxford Board of Commissioners will hold an agenda meeting on Monday, August 6, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room, City Hall.

Among the agenda items:

  • Discussion on parking in front of the courthouse
  • Discussion on resurfacing streets to coincide with DOT’s schedule
  • Informational item – street resurfacing financing options
  • Informational item – review a copy of the draft Backflow Prevention Ordinance

Oxford’s Public Works Committee Meeting Rescheduled, Mon. July 23

The Public Works, Water, & Infrastructure Committee for the Oxford Board of Commissioners has been rescheduled for Monday, July 23, 2018, at 2 p.m. The meeting will be held in the First Floor Training Room, City Hall, 300 Williamsboro Street, Oxford.

The purpose of the meeting is to follow up on the items from the last public works meeting including; automated meters, the road condition survey and the existing downtown trash compactor. There will also be a discussion regarding backflow prevention.

All those interested are invited to attend.

Consider adopting a reimbursement resolution as required by the US Treasury Regulations Section 1.15-2 for the City to reimburse itself for capital asset purchases.

Consider resolution authorizing the City to engage in electronic payments as defined by G.S. 159-28 allowing the Finance Officer to create policies and procedures for electronic payments.

Consider adopting a Uniform Guidance Procurement Policy.

Consider adopting a Conflict of Interest and Gift Policy as required by the Federal Uniform Guidance Policy.

Approve the following two people to serve on the Historic Preservation Commission:

  • Kelly Collins-Schram – 2nd Term Expiring in June 2021
  • Derrick R. Brown – 1st Term Expiring in June 2021

Oxford Public Safety Committee Meeting, Thurs., June 28

The Public Safety Committee for the Oxford Board of Commissioners will meet on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held in the First Floor Training Room, City Hall, 300 Williamsboro Street.  The purpose of the meeting is to discuss stop signs on Spring Street, parking spaces, and speeding.

City of Oxford Public Works Committee to Meet Thurs., June 14

The Public Works, Water, & Infrastructure Committee for the Oxford Board of Commissioners will meet on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 1 p.m. The meeting will be held in the First Floor Training Room, City Hall, 300 Williamsboro Street in Oxford.

The purpose of the meeting is to hear a presentation on Automated Water Meters, hear a presentation on the City of Oxford Road Condition Survey, and to discuss the existing downtown trash compactor.

Oxford Board of Commissioners to Hold Agenda Meeting Mon., June 4

The City of Oxford Board of Commissioners will hold an agenda meeting on Monday, June 4, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room, City Hall.

Among the agenda items:

  • Report from the Airport Authority Chairman, David Thomas
  • Budget amendment for the final payment on the WWTP Lagoon – consider authorizing a budget amendment in the amount of $30,000 to cover the change order previously approved by the Board on April 30, 2018. Monies will be moved from the Water Fund to the Fixed Asset Over $5,000 fund. This budget amendment will allow the City to make final payment to Vance Construction for the WWTP Lagoon.
  • Set the agenda for the Tuesday, June 12, 2018, regular session

The regular monthly Board meeting will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room, City Hall.
