150K Doses of Heroin Seized in Traffic Stop

In an email to WIZS News, Henderson Police Chief Marcus Barrow wrote, “On the morning of June 9, 2021 officers from the Henderson Police Department conducted a traffic stop on I-85, resulting in the seizure of 150,000 doses of heroin, two containers of marijuana, and $742.00 in US Currency. The estimated street value of the seizure is around one million dollars.

“The vehicle’s operator, 25-year-old Niamani Faith Dantzler-Sneed, was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Trafficking in Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sell Manufacture and Deliver Heroin, Maintaining a Vehicle to Keep Controlled Substances, and Misdemeanor Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance. She received $231,000 secured bond.”

Pair Arrested by Vance County Sheriff’s Office and Charged with Drug-Related Offenses

On February 10, 2021, the Vance County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit and Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team executed a search warrant at 385 Julian Smith Road Lot 3, Henderson, North Carolina 27537.

Arrested at the scene were Tevin Lee Daye, Age 28 and Janeika Shadia Speed, Age 24, for Possession With Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver Heroin, Possession With Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver Cocaine and Possession With Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver Marijuana.

Daye’s bond was set at $90,000.00 and Speed’s bond was set at $75,000.00. They are scheduled to appear in Vance County District Court on March 15, 2021.

This investigation is continuing.

HPD: Drugs, Stolen Firearms Seized in Search Warrant on Two Residences

On Wednesday, November 4, 2020, officers of the Henderson Police Department served search warrants on two separate homes located at 1473 Perry Ave. and 550 West Andrews Ave., Apartment 39.

During the service of the warrants, a total of 590 dosage units of heroin, 35 grams of cocaine, 35 grams of ecstasy, drug manufacturing equipment, marijuana, $15,741 in U.S. Currency, a stolen semi-auto pistol and a stolen revolver pistol were located.

Keynod Antonio Hayes was arrested in regards to this investigation.

Hayes was charged with two counts of trafficking heroin, one count of PWIMSD heroin, three counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of trafficking MDA/MDMA, two counts of possession of a stolen firearm, two counts of maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place for a controlled substance, one count of manufacture schedule I, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of possession of marijuana paraphernalia and one count of possession of marijuana up to ½ oz.

Hayes received a $300,000 secured bond.

On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, officers of the Henderson Police Department served a search warrant on a residence located at 150 Faulkner Street.

During the service of the warrant, 448 dosage units of heroin and $1,945 in U.S. Currency were located.

Jerome Manson, age 32, was arrested on scene and charged with the following: trafficking Heroin by possession, trafficking Heroin by manufacturing, maintaining a dwelling place for a controlled substance and PWIMSD Heroin.

Manson, who was on pre-trial release, received a $500,000 secured cash bond.

Franklin Co. Sheriff’s Office Arrests Youngsville Man on Multiple Drug Charges

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group arrested Franklin County resident William Ryan Brown on June 22, 2020, on a variety of drug charges.

The investigation began when the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit received information and complaints from multiple sources alleging that Mr. Brown was involved in illegal drug activity in and around Franklin County. During the investigation, probable cause was established and a search warrant was executed at Mr. Brown’s residence, located at 102 Bridle Trail, Youngsville, NC.

As a result of the search warrant, 822 bindles of heroin, 33 grams of Methamphetamine, multiple firearms, various pills and drug paraphernalia were seized. The street value of the heroin seized is estimated to be $20,550 and the street value of the Methamphetamine seized is estimated to be $9,600.

Mr. Brown was charged with Trafficking Heroin by Possession, Trafficking Methamphetamine by Possession, Possess With Intent to Sell and Deliver Heroin, Sell Heroin, Possess With Intent to Sell and Deliver a Schedule III Controlled Substance, Possess With Intent to Sell and Deliver a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Possession of THC Isolates and Maintaining a Dwelling for the Purpose of Storing Controlled Substances.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group was assisted in this investigation by US Marshals and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Sheriff Kent Winstead stated, “These investigations are vital to disrupting illegal drug trafficking in our county. We are appreciative of the cooperation with our federal partners and the information provided by our citizens that aided us in this investigation.”

Mr. Brown is currently being held in the Franklin County Detention Center under a $300,000 secured bond.

Vance Co. Sheriff’s Office: Father, Son Served on Drug Charges

On November 15, 2019, the Vance County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and Vance County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Response Team served a search warrant at 2395 Spring Valley Road, Henderson, North Carolina 27537.

Arrested at the residence were Phillip Nathan Solomon and his son, Derek Lamar Solomon. Phillip Solomon was charged with Maintaining a Dwelling. Derek Solomon was charged with 2 counts of Trafficking Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Heroin and 2 counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule 2. 

Phillip Solomon received a $7,000.00 bond and Derek Solomon received a $165,000.00 bond.

Phillip and Derek Solomon’s court dates were set for December 16, 2019, in Vance County District Court. This investigation is continuing.

Kittrell Resident Arrested on Felony Drug, Weapon Charges

On May 16, 2019, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Franklin County resident, Kwarshon Rakim White of 1090 Walter Grissom Road, Kittrell, NC, on felony drug and weapon charges. The arrest was the result of citizen complaints and information provided to the Sheriff’s Office which alleged White was involved in illegal drug sells in Franklin County.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit opened an investigation into White’s activities and was able to validate the information provided. The investigation concluded with a vehicle stop and the arrest of Kwarshon Rakim White on Walter Grissom Road, Kittrell, NC. Detectives seized 90 bindles of Heroin, Marijuana, one 9mm handgun, US Currency and a 2002 Lexus LS430 vehicle during the arrest.

Sheriff Kent Winstead stated, “The citizens of Franklin County continue to be proactive and observant in their neighborhoods and once again, their assistance has proven to be important to the success of our mission. We will continue to aggressively pursue those who choose to poison our communities with these illegal drugs.”

Kwarshon Rakim White was placed in the Franklin County Detention Center under a $200,000 secured bond.

Kwarshon Rakim White was charged with: four (4) counts of Possess with intent to sell and deliver a Controlled Substance, three (3) counts of sell and Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Heroin), four (4) counts of Maintain a vehicle for the purpose of storing/selling a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a firearm by a felon.

HPD: $800,000 Bond Set in Lynn Haven Ave Drug Arrest

Today at noon, members of the Henderson Police Department’s Narcotics Unit conducted a vehicle stop at the corner of Dabney Drive and Oxford Rd. This traffic stop yielded a quantity of marijuana, heroin, cocaine, and a firearm. These seizures lead to a search warrant of a residence at 2025 Lynn Haven Ave that yielded other firearms, and more narcotics.

Amil K. Davis, age 39 of 2025 Lynn Haven Ave, was arrested and has been charged with the following;

Traffic Violation Stop Turns Into Drug Arrest for Coleman

On March 24, 2019, Lieutenant B.I. Gooch was traveling southbound on Highway 39 near Rice Road when a 1993 red Nissan pick-up truck crossed the center line into his lane.

Lieutenant Gooch stopped the truck for the traffic violation. During the traffic stop, 4-ounces of marijuana packaged for sale, a half gram of powder cocaine and approximately 10 unknown pills were recovered from the truck. The driver of the truck was arrested.

He is: Michael Coleman, age 24, 307 Waters Edge Road in Henderson.

Charge: possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle to sell controlled substance, possession of cocaine and driving left of center.

Bond: $21,000

Durham Arrested on Drug, Stolen Vehicle Charges

On March 19, 2019, in response to reported criminal activity, members of the Vance County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, Narcotics Unit and Special Enforcement Response Team executed a search warrant at 505 Ivey Street.

Heroin, cash and a pistol were removed from the house. A stolen motor vehicle was recovered the previous night.

One person was arrested as a result of the search warrant:

Tasha Durham, age 37, 505 Ivey Street

Charges:

Possession of a stolen motor vehicle

Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver heroin

Maintaining a dwelling for the sell of a controlled substance

Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Durham’s bond was set at $77,000.
