Arts Alive 2024 Comes To McGregor Hall Mar. 16

Arts Alive 2024 is gearing up to showcase the varied talents of students across Vance County.

This year’s event will take place Saturday, March 16 at McGregor Hall in downtown Henderson and will include singers, artists, dancers, musicians and actors from across the school district who will share their creativity and talent with the community.

The Art Gallery will open at 3 p.m., followed by Heart of the Art at 3:30 p.m.  and the Talent Showcase will begin at 5 p.m., according to information from the Vance County Public School Foundation. The event is free.

Show your support by purchasing an Arts Alive  t-shirt and wearing it the day of the show- but hurry, you need to order by Saturday, Feb. 10 to receive it before the show.

The foundation also is seeking sponsors for the event, and all donations support the foundation’s work within the county to provide students and staff enriching experiences as they grow in their educational journey.

Sponsorship levels range from $25 to $2,000. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support this annual event by Mar. 1. All sponsors will be listed in the Arts Alive  program.

Here’s a breakdown of the sponsorship levels:

Friend – $25-$50

Bronze – $51-$150

Silver – $151-$250

Gold – $251-$499

Platinum – $500-$999

Diamond – $1,000-$1,999

Pinnacle – $2,000+

Arts Alive 2021 was an amazing day this past Saturday, April 24 with Master Classes, the Virtual Art Gallery, along with the Talent Showcase! The district proudly presented our Champion of the Arts Awards to Dr. LaSaundra Booth and Mr. Andrew Markoch.

Dr. Booth, of the Wake Forest Community Youth Orchestra, has been instrumental in developing the Vance County Schools strings program. Her dedication and hard work has allowed the program to continue growing year after year, allowing our students to truly experience orchestra and strings at the elementary level.

Mr. Markoch serves as the VCS Director of Fine Arts and Innovation. He continues to raise the bar in our district for both visual and performing arts. As a fully staffed arts district, we ensure that every student experiences the arts at every grade level. Mr. Markoch oversees all of the arts programs within our schools.

Both of these individuals are indeed Champions of the Arts and make us all Vance County Schools Proud! The excitement doesn’t end until April 30th, as our virtual art gallery and master classes will be available until April 30 at http://bit.ly/ArtsAliveWebsite.

Arts Alive Talent Showcase March 24th

Vance County Schools is joining the Vance County Public School Foundation again this year in presenting the Arts Alive Talent Showcase on Saturday, March 24, at the McGregor Hall Performing Arts Center on Breckenridge Street in downtown Henderson.

Arts Alive will feature the display of over 200 pieces of visual art work from students in our schools and about 20 performing groups who are our students in the show.

The student art work can be viewed free of charge beginning at 4 p.m. in the McGregor Hall Gallery on March 24.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. in the McGregor Hall auditorium on March 24.

Tickets for the show are $5 per person. The tickets will go on sale beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at McGregor Hall.

All proceeds from Arts Alive go to the Vance County Public School Foundation to support programs in our public school system.

The Arts Alive! talent showcase for Vance County Schools is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at McGregor Hall.

The 90-minute show will feature almost 100 performers who are students in Vance County Schools.

Student art work also will be on display from 4 to 7 p.m. at McGregor Hall.

Admission to the art work display is free. Tickets for the showcase are $5 each and will be on sale at McGregor Hall beginning at 3 p.m. on March 25.

Seating for the showcase is limited and will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
