- The Vance County Regional Farmers Market is open Saturdays from 8am-1pm.
- “Marketing Your Farm” Event happening on Monday, November 2nd, starting at 6:30pm at the Vance County Regional Farmers Market.
- Soil samples are needed, avoid the rush. 3 week analyis time. Peak Season starts on December 1st.
- Fall is a good time to plant landscape plants.
- Winterize any equipment that you are not going to use until next spring. Ex: Sprayers & tillers
- Assemble your frost protection materials before frost is projected.
- Check fall vegetables for insects. Cabbage worm and harlequin bugs.
- Start preparing for leaf collection season. Do you have a compost bin?
- Clean up planters and get ready to plant pansies.
- Harvest herbs before frost.
- Get your copy of the Central Piedmont Vegetable Planting Guide.
- Build a greenhouse.
- Check houseplants, dust weekly with a soft cloth.
- Check storage areas for mice.
