What: Cross Country Festival. There will be a total of 14 events contested throughout the day including the Central Children’s Home run walk (Women 6 km, Men 8 km) four Youth division races, the Granville Invitational, featuring High School and Middle School events and for the first time the festival will have competitive collegiate divisions for men and women.

What: Second Annual Community Trunk or Treat
When: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26
Where: At Plank Chapel United Methodist Church, 3047 Bobbitt Road
Additional Details: There is no fee to participate in the event, presented by Journey, Plank Chapel’s youth outreach ministry. Children 15 and younger are invited to walk the Trunk or Treat trail and collect candy along the way. Youngsters may wear their Halloween costumes when attending. Games with novelty prizes will also be offered as well as a crafts table. Anyone wishing to participate on the Trunk of Treat trail with a vehicle may reserve a space by contacting Ron Gustafson at (203) 641-2889. Vehicle participants must also provide candy to distribute.
