Vance County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Death of Two Juveniles
The Vance County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the deaths of two juveniles found deceased in their homes on February 9, 2026, at approximately 9:40 p.m. Detectives are working actively with the District Attorney’s Office, the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. The cause of death of the 13-year-old female and the 17-year-old male remain undetermined pending autopsy and toxicology results. The children are siblings.
The Vance County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division discovered there were four juveniles residing in the home, ages 12, 13, 16, and 17, all of whom are siblings. The father of the four children was also present at the time of the children’s deaths. There is no known threat to the public at this time.
Sheriff Brame said, “I appreciate the outpouring of concern from our community after the recent deaths of two children. I ask for your prayers and support for the professionals working tirelessly to gather each and every fact available to find out exactly why these children are no longer here with us. I also ask for your patience as important investigative steps must be completed before additional details can be released to the public.”

Two Juvenile Victims Pronounced Dead At The Scene
On February 9, 2026, at approximately 9:40 p.m., the Vance County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service at 71 Torri Drive, Henderson, North Carolina, in reference to two deceased individuals.
Upon arrival, deputies located two juvenile victims, ages 13 and 17, who were pronounced deceased at the scene.
This incident remains under active investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
