A Vance County Deputy was involved in an “Officer Involved Shooting” shortly before 12 noon on the 22nd of February 2025.  Details are limited at this time.  It has been confirmed that one subject was shot during the incident.  The subject was transported to a local hospital and has succumbed to his injuries.   The identity of the deceased subject is not being released at this time due to notification of next of kin.  

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations has been notified and will leading an investigation into the incident.  Further details will be provided as they become available.
