Vance Co. Announces Filing Period for Local Elections

Filing for the October 8, 2019, City of Henderson Election will start on Friday, July 5, 2019, at 12 p.m. and end on Friday, July 19, 2019, at 12 p.m. Offices that will be on the ballot: Mayor, 1st and 2nd Ward seats and 3rd and 4th Ward At-Large seats. The filing fee is $10.

Filing for Town of Kittrell and Town of Middleburg elections will also start Friday, July 5, 2019, at 12 p.m. and end on Friday, July 19, 2019, at 12 p.m. The election date for Kittrell and Middleburg is November 5, 2019.

Offices that will be on the ballot for Kittrell: Mayor and three town commissioners. Offices that will be on the ballot for Middleburg: Mayor and three town council members. The filing fee is $5.

The Vance County Board of Elections office will not close for lunch during the filing period. With questions, please contact the Board of Elections office at (252) 492-3730.

Vance Co. Board of Elections: Early Voting Open During Downtown Trick-or-Treating

The following is updated voter information for the afternoon of Wednesday, October 31, 2018, for the One Stop Early Vote site located in the lobby of the Board of Elections – 300 S. Garnett St., Henderson.

Between 3 – 6 p.m., Garnett St. will be closed to allow for Trick-Or-Treating with the downtown merchants. One Stop Early Voting will continue at the Board of Elections Site during this time frame. Parking on Garnett St. will not be allowed during this time frame.

Side street parking for voters will be available on Wyche and Winder Streets, as well as the municipal parking lot located at the corner of Garnett St. and Orange St. Handicap voters and those desiring to vote by Curbside Voting may do so by parking in the two handicap parking spaces located in the rear of the Henry Dennis Building and accessing the voting site by using the handicap access. Handicap voters arriving to vote at the Board of Elections site may call the Board of Elections at (252) 492-3730 for assistance during this time period.

The One Stop Early Vote site located at the City of Henderson’s Operations Center will also be operating on the daily schedule as posted and will provide easier parking and access during this time frame. For further information, contact the Vance County Board of Elections at (252) 492-3730.

Filing Underway for Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisor

Filing for Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisor is from now until Friday, July 6, 2018, at 12:00 noon. The filing fee is $5.00.

The Board of Elections will be opened during lunch for filing. We will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th. Should you have any questions about filing, contact the Board of Elections at 252-492-3730.

Filing Window Open for Henderson 2017 Municipal Election

Good afternoon,

I would like for you to announce the following several times next week and the following week:

Filing for the 2017 City of Henderson Municipal Election started on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 12:00 noon and will end on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 12:00 noon.  The Board of Elections office will not be closing for lunch during filing.

The offices that are up are:  1st Ward At-Large Seat, 2nd Ward-At-Large Seat, 3rd Ward Seat, and 4th Ward Seat.

Filing fee is $5.00.  You must live in the ward that you are filing for in order to run.

Chuck Stuber requests recount for NC Auditor Race

Chuck Stuber who was a candidate for NC Auditor has requested a statewide recount.  We will have our recount starting on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016 starting at 1:00 PM and finishing up on Thursday, December 8th, 2016 in the Board of Elections Office located at 300 S. Garnett Street, Henry A. Dennis Building.  The public is invited to attend.
