Jimmy & The Sound Barriers Perform Benefit Concert Aug. 3 At Clearview Church

Clearview Church is the place to be Sunday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. when JIMMY & THE SOUND BARRIERS AND FRIENDS are scheduled to perform in concert to benefit the Anchor of Hope ministry.

Come sit back and enjoy a wonderful night of country and bluegrass gospel music performed Gaither style by Jimmy Barrier and the Sound Barriers along with many talented guests such as the Hodnett Family.

This has become a popular annual event at Clearview Church, located at 3485 US 158 Business in Henderson.

Admission if free, but a love offering will be taken, organizers say.

The night is dedicated to church’s Anchor of Hope ministry, which serves those who are facing some of life’s most difficult challenges. Members pray for and minister to individuals who are facing a medical crisis, the loss of a loved one, or other tough times and present them with a blanket as a way to remind them there is hope, God is with them, and there are people praying for them.

Clearview Church Hosts ‘Night of Gospel Praise’ Aug. 4

Clearview Church is hosting a “Night of Gospel Praise” Sunday evening, featuring Jimmy and the Sound Barriers among other performers who will present a Gaither-style concert to benefit Anchor of Hope.

The evening begins at Sunday, Aug. 4 at 6 p.m. at Clearview, located at 3485 Hwy. 158 Business. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

Barrier and wife Kay are just two of the individuals teaming up to put on the event. Kay leads the church’s Anchor of Hope ministry, which provides support to those near and far. The prayer group involves about 70 women who lay hands on and bless the blankets before they are delivered to those in need. It’s a symbol of God’s love, she said, and that those who have reached out for prayer are not alone.

“We try to reach out to people going through trials and storms in their life,” she said on Monday’s segment of The Local Skinny!

One aspect of the ministry involves praying over blankets that are distributed to those battling illness or other life-altering events.

In addition to the blankets, the ministry provides food gift cards and gas cards to help with essential items when disaster strikes.

“It’s a comfort to know that people are praying for you,” Jimmy Barrier said. The proceeds from the Sunday concert goes directly to the ministry.

Celebrate Christmas Bluegrass-Style At Sunday Concert At Clearview Church

Join Jimmy and the Sound Barriers this Sunday at Clearview Church for a special holiday performance, Bluegrass style.

“Christmas Time’s A-Comin’” will begin at 6 p.m. at Clearview Church, 3485 Hwy .158 Business in Henderson.

The event is free and open to the public. A love offering will be taken to benefit Anchor of Hope, a women’s ministry whose mission is to provide for those in need with gifts of gas cards, food and blankets.

“Their mission is to make Christ visible to all, and to let them know they are not alone in the storms of life,” Barrier stated. The group donates blankets to children and to the sick as a reminder that they are being covered with the grace and love of God.
