The Henderson City Council’s Boards and Commissions Committee will meet on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. in the Large Conference Room at City Hall, 134 Rose Avenue.
The purpose of this meeting is to review application(s) for various other citizen committees.
The Henderson City Council’s Public Safety Committee will meet on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at 2:45 p.m. in the Large Conference Room at City Hall, 134 Rose Avenue.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss golf cart usage on public streets and a possible ordinance.
The public is welcome to observe.

Trunk-or-Treat at New Life Baptist Church, 2174 Vicksboro Rd. in Henderson, has been moved to Friday, November 1, 2019, from 6 until 8 p.m. due to predicted inclement weather Thursday evening.
Join the church for some family fun including hayrides, refreshments and candy on Friday evening.

Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church will observe its Annual Veterans Day Service on Sunday, November 3, 2019, during morning worship service. The guest speaker will be Elder Jamel Kinard.
The public is invited to attend.

H-V Rec. & Parks to Offer Badminton, Pickleball to Adults Ages 50+

The Henderson-Vance Recreation & Parks Department is looking for “mature” adults ages 50 or better to participate in badminton and pickleball.
Badminton will be offered on Mondays from 10 – 11 a.m. beginning November 4, 2019, at the Aycock Recreation Center. Sessions will conclude on December 9.
Pickleball will be offered on Thursdays from 10 – 11 a.m. beginning November 7, 2019, at the Aycock Recreation Center. Sessions will conclude on December 12.
Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines the elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis.
The cost to participate is $1.
