Henderson Collegiate To Host Teacher Career Fair Thursday, Aug. 11

Henderson Collegiate is hosting a teacher career fair Thursday morning and is offering a $2,000 signing bonus for any of a number of open positions at the K-12 charter school. Prospective applicants donā€™t need a Ā teacher license in hand – just bring a resume.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 12 at the school, located at 1071 Old Epsom Rd. in Henderson.

ā€œThis is a great career opportunity for a teacher, career changer, or recent graduate,ā€ said Alicia Hawk, director of development at Henderson Collegiate, Inc.

ā€œHenderson Collegiate is one of the top K-12 public charter schools in the state with competitive pay and benefits, and itā€™s part of the N.C. Teachers & State Employees retirement program,ā€ Hawk added.

New Teacher Bag Donations

We need your help toĀ welcome our new teachers to Vance County!
Snacks, gum, candy, water bottles, notepads, pens, pencils, coupons etc. are just a few of the things we need to pack in the bags.Ā Make sure your business name and contact information is on the items you donate.Ā This is a great way to advertise your business to a new group coming into the Vance County area.

We will be packing 150 bags and theseĀ will be distributed to new teachers at all Vance County Public schools, Kerr-Vance Academy, Henderson Collegiate, Vance Charter, and Crossroads Christian.

Henderson Collegiate looking for career day volunteers

On Friday, March 24th, 2017, share what you love with Henderson Collegiate’s 7th – 10th grade studentsĀ at their 3rd annual Career Day!

This event will create opportunities for students to explore the diverse and amazing careers that will be open to them once they graduate from college and go out into the world to change it for the better.

To do this, they need volunteers from various professions who are able to come set up a table and to talk with students about their careers.

Where: Henderson Collegiate Middle School, 1071 Old Epsom Rd., Henderson, NC

When (revised): 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24th, 2017
Volunteers are invited to begin arriving at 8:45 a.m. to set up their tables and enjoy coffee and networking.

Who’s Invited: Professionals who are interested in sharing about their careers and the education linked with their professions

What: Set up a table with information about your career and talk with students about your experiences
