Feb. 10 Community Info Series Topic: ‘End The Cycle: Stop Teen Dating Violence’

The next Community Information Series topic at Baskerville Funeral Home Chapel, scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m., is “End the Cycle: Stop Teen Dating Violence.”

Jackie Walker, Outreach Advocate with Families Living Violence Free, will lead an open and supportive conversation about teen dating violence. This session will teach how to recognize warning signs, understand what healthy relationships look like, and how to protect and support teens.

Teen dating violence often goes unnoticed, yet it affects many young people in our community. This evening is designed to provide education, encouragement, and hope for parents, caregivers, educators, youth leaders, and anyone who cares about the well-being of our teens.

Jan. 13 Community Info Series Topic: Medicaid 1915(i) Services

The Jan. 13 Community Information Session at Baskerville Funeral Home, LLC will be all about Medicaid 1915(i) services, and how these services provide support for families and individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, autism, mental health and substance use needs.

The presenter will be Diandra Hyman-Graham, client service manager for Advantage Care in Home Services of Henderson, according to information from Charlie Baskerville.

Attendees will learn about the services, get guidance on eligibility and the application process and how Advantage Care in Home Services may be able to assist with respite and Community Living Supports.

Community Info Series Dec. 9: Kerr-Tar COG Re-Entry Services

Re-entry services is the topic of the Community Information Session, hosted by Baskerville Funeral Home, LLC.

The public is invited to attend on Tuesday, Dec. 9 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sharon Thomas, regional re-entry program manager for the Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments, is the guest speaker.

This session will provide valuable information on re-entry transitional planning, expungement support, housing and transportation assistance, employment resources, community referrals, and more. The upcoming Community Information Series topic is a GED/Second Chance Workshop titled “It’s Never Too Late to Learn.”

FLVF Executive Director Guest Speaker At July 8 Community Info Series

The executive director of Families Living Violence Free will be the guest speaker at the upcoming Community Information Series event at Baskerville Funeral Home.

Amy Langston is scheduled to speak on the topic “Giving Voice and Support to Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Victims” on Tuesday, July 8 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This is a free event and open to the public. Langston will share insights and resources to support survivors and strengthen community awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault.
