On April 16, 2025, at approximately 9:40 p.m., officers with the Henderson Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the “Henderson Corner Store,” located at 1045 S. William St. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, identified as Jonathan Ayscue, who reported being robbed by three male suspects brandishing a firearm. The suspects stole undisclosed amount of U.S. currency and then fled the scene.
Through information gathered at the scene of the crime, officers quickly identified the suspect vehicle—a black Honda CRV with Virginia plates and obtained images of the suspects.
At approximately 11:45 p.m., officers located the vehicle on Arch Street. All three suspects were inside the vehicle and taken into custody without incident. A handgun was also recovered.
The suspects, all 19-year-olds with addresses in Oxford, NC, have been identified and charged as follows:
- Azariah Stovall: Charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, second degree kidnapping, carrying a concealed firearm, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of a Schedule III controlled substance.
- Quintavion Henderson: Charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, second degree kidnapping, and served with an outstanding warrant from Vance County for assault on a female.
- Nicholas Harris: Charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, second degree kidnapping, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
All three individuals were given no bond by the magistrate and are currently being held at the Vance County Detention Center. Their first court appearance is scheduled for April 21, 2025.
