Death by Distribution Suspect Arrested

from the office of Vance County Sheriff Curtis Brame

On or about June 1, 2024, units of the Vance County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol Division served a warrant for arrest on Parrish N. Jefferson, age 33, of Henderson N.C. The warrant for Jefferson was obtained by the Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Unit charging the defendant with Death by Distribution related to a fatal overdose which occurred in Vance County in October of 2023.

The charging documents allege that Jefferson was responsible for selling and delivering a controlled substance to the decedent, which directly lead to the death as revealed through a Medical Examiner’s Report filed in Raleigh N.C.

Jefferson was placed under a $90,000 secured bond, which he met at that time and was released.

The Vance County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to aggressively pursuing those responsible for distributing illegal drugs throughout our communities. The Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Unit has contacted the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Raleigh N.C. and will be meeting with their staff in the coming weeks to discuss possible Federal Prosecution related to this case and others, which still remain under investigation.
