George Rush and John Charles Rose interviewed Nancy Wilson, director of Vance County Tourism, from 11:03 a.m. until 11:25 a.m. about the economic impact of tourism in Vance County and particularly about the upcoming Show Shine Shag and Dine event this weekend.  People from all over the country will file into Henderson this week with nostalgic, vintage cars and drag cars with an overall anticipated economic impact of about $2 million. From 11:25 a.m. until 11:55 a.m., discussed was the opioid overdose and addiction issue in Vance County and the surrounding area. Trey Snide of the WIZS staff reported some bullet points from the Granville Vance Public Health meeting held Oct 17, 2017 about the subject.

George Rush and John Charles Rose interviewed Kevin Otis live in studio from 11:03 a.m. until 11:20 a.m. Otis appeared to discuss the local issue of the Masonic Home For Children in Oxford, NC. Otis, the head administrator, discussed the vocational and educational aspects among other topics concerning the Masonic Home and how it serves Vance and Granville Counties and in fact 26 counties in NC. He promoted the 7th Annual Homecoming Festival coming up the 13th-15th, with the big parade, BBQ cook off and live beach music on the 14th. From 11:22 a.m. until 11:40 a.m., the local non-partisan Henderson municipal election of 10-10-17 was discussed, including turnout, results and touching on the concept of combined city/county government here. The final segment of the show until 11:55 a.m. followed up on the issue of transportation in NC, the growing needs, the shrinking gasoline tax proceeds and other funding options.
