on Friday, February 28, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Plates are $7 and include spaghetti, salad, bread and dessert. A drink is included for dine-in.

City of Henderson Reports Nearly 300,000 Gallons of Bypassed Wastewater

NOTICE OF BYPASS OF UNTREATED WASTEWATER

The City of Henderson’s Sewer Collection System bypassed approximately 299,350 gallons of untreated water on February 6, 2020, and February 7, 2020, due to heavy rain. The areas that ran over were Red Bud outfall, Alexander Ave., Beckford Dr. outfall, Neatherly St., Pinkston St., Farrar Ave., and Willow Ln.

North Carolina General Statutes Article 21 Chapter 143.215.1c requires a press release for all bypasses of 1,000 gallons or more that enter surface waters.

The Quartet features Henderson’s own, Michael Stephenson.

The Kittrell Community Watch will meet Thursday, February 20, 2020, at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 6535 US #1 Business S. Kittrell, NC.

The guest speaker will be Capt. John Shelton, Vance County Sheriff’s Office. His topic will be church security and will touch on church policy and lessons learned from recent “church shootings” across the country. He will offer insight on how to protect yourself and others should you be faced with a similar situation.

The City of Oxford Board of Commissioners will hold their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at 7 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room, City Hall in Oxford.

Agenda items include:

Public Hearing Joint public hearing with the Planning Board to hear citizen input regarding approval for a 58 +/ – Planned Unit Development on Lewis Street (adjacent to the solar farm).

Consider approving the PUD (Planned Unit Development) with conditions for the 58+/acre project located off of Lewis Street and adjacent to the solar farm.

Consider Accepting Certificate of Sufficiency for Petition of Voluntary, Non-Contiguous, Annexation by Oxford Preparatory School, and calling for a public hearing to be held at the March 10 regular board meeting. 

Accept funds 0f $12,000 provided to the City of Oxford by Downtown Oxford Economic Development Corporation.

Consider approving Change Order #2 for Phoenix Fabricators & Erectors, LLC, for the Water Tank and Associate Water Mains Project.

Consider authorizing the City Manager to sign the Task Order for Infrastructure Design Assistance.

Consider authorizing the City Manager to sign the contract with TriMat for 2017 USDA Water & Sewer Project Construction Testing.

FCSO: Rodgers, Kittrell Resident, Arrested on Rape Charge

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division issued a warrant for arrest on Terell Fredrick Rodgers, Franklin County resident, on Friday, January 31, 2020. Charges consisted of the following: (1) count Felony Second Degree Forcible Rape and (1) count Misdemeanor Sexual Battery.

On Tuesday, February 4, 2020, Terell Fredrick Rodgers was arrested and served on the above-listed charges by Louisburg Police Department.

Terell Fredrick Rodgers was given a $100,000.00 secure bond and is currently being held in the Franklin County Detention Center.
