Schmitt Orthodontics Celebrates H/V Chamber Membership

Henderson businesses take note:  On June 19th at noon, the Henderson-Vance Chamber had a ribbon cutting for Schmitt Orthodontics.

Dr. Terry J. Schmitt worked with and then succeeded Dr. John van Venrooy as he transitioned into retirement.

Schmitt Orthodontics specializes in monitoring growth and development, straightening teeth and aligning bites using braces and invisalign.

They offer convenient hours by appointment M-Th.  Schmitt Orthodontics is proud to continue the tradition of serving as Henderson’s only full-time Specialist in Orthodontics for the past 29 years!

H/V Chamber Welcomes Cook Shack Catering

On Monday, May 22nd, the Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Cook Shack Catering. Cook Shack Catering is located on Hwy 39 S in Louisburg, NC.

Cook Shack is not new to the Henderson/Vance County area. Many have enjoyed their food over the years. Owner Austin Murray has been catering for more than 20 years. H/V Chamber Cuts Ribbon for new Downtown Shoe Store

On Thursday, April 27, the Henderson Vance Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony for Fierce Feet by Tweet, a new business in Downtown Henderson. Fierce Feet by Tweet owner, Alisa Alston offers a variety of in trend, casual and formal shoes and accessories, including clothing and handbags. 

Hours of operation are 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m, Monday – Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. The shop is located at 133 S. Garnett Street, in historic Downtown Henderson and can be reached at (252) 425-2287. 

H-V Chamber to Host Ribbon Cutting for New Downtown Business

Please be advised that a Ribbon Cutting will be held for Fierce Feet by Tweet at their 133 South Garnett Street location in Henderson on Thursday, April 27 at 10:00 a.m. to celebrate the official opening of this new business and membership with the Chamber.

Please join the Chamber Board and staff in this celebration to help support and formally welcome this new business into the Chamber and Henderson.  The celebration is open for all to attend.

Their hours of operation will be 9: 00 a.m. til 6:00 p.m. Monday – Saturday and 1:00 p.m. til 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Local Chambers of Commerce to Host Administrative Professionals Luncheon

The Granville County Chamber of Commerce, together with Franklin, Warren and Vance Chambers, and the Small Business Center of Vance-Granville Community College,  are sponsoring the annual Administrative Professionals Luncheon.

This year’s event is being held Wednesday, April 26 at noon, at Henderson Country Club.  Business owners and administrators are encouraged to treat their administrative professionals to lunch, networking and an interesting presentation in observance of Administrative Professionals’ Day.

H-V Chamber Announces 2017 “Meet Me In The Street” Concert Series

The Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce is proud to host another season of “Meet Me in the Street”, a series of concerts offered free to the local community.

The first concert for the year will be held on Thursday, May 25 and will feature “The Konnection Band”. This band is a local favorite and is one of the East Coast’s premiere party bands, specializing in a variety of music including Top 40, Rock, Country, R & B, Beach and Oldies.

The second concert is set for Thursday, June 22 and will host “Steve Owens & Summertime”. A band with a beach music focus and chart-topping songs since their start in 2011, Summertime presents a mix of Carolina Beach Music, soul and rock-n-roll.

The third and final concert of the season is on Thursday, September14 and will feature “Liquid Pleasure”. After more than two decades of bringing audiences to their feet, this band has become a multi-cultural icon. Veteran member Melvin Farrington says “We love being in touch with people like us, who love a variety of good music, and appreciate hearing it performed live”. Liquid Pleasure presents a mix of Oldies, Beach Music and Disco.

In addition to the live music and dancing, a kids section will also be included this year. So bring the whole family for an evening of food, friends and fun!

H-V Chamber Kicks off Leadership Vance 2017

The Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce kicked off its 2017 Leadership Vance Program with an orientation breakfast at Vance-Granville Community College on February 7.  The group also held its team building and challenge course retreat on February 23 at the Fred G. Bond Metro Park.

The Leadership Vance program is designed to inform, challenge and educate participants on the opportunities and needs of the community and to strengthen their leadership skills while teaching about the social, economic, and political dynamics that shape our community.  The intensive training and exposure to all aspects of the community will provide participants with the historical background and the skills necessary for civic and community positions.  The program is ultimately designed to create a group of informed and dedicated leaders who will contribute to the community.

Participants are exposed to various aspects of Henderson and Vance County, specifically in regard to city and county government, health and community resources, economic development, agriculture and natural resources, history and media and criminal justice and law.
