When Johnny Yount, Head Coach of the Vance Charter girl’s soccer team, spoke on Thursday’s SportsTalk, he was on a bus with his team headed to a second round playoff game against Lejune. If they come away victorious, a third round game will be Monday night. It’s been a great season so far for Vance Charter. “We’ve got a good group of girls,” Yount said. The team has a good mix of youth and experience with five seniors leading the team. “We are focused and there is no drama,” Yount continued.
Vance Charter’s competition naturally gets better as they go deeper into the playoffs, but Yount and his team have a plan. “If we play to the best of our ability, we’ll be fine,” Yount said. The third round, if Vance Charter wins, will be Monday night at 6pm on the road with Voyager being the likely opponent.
