In order to ensure your public service announcement is advertised, WIZS has made a policy change. We will no longer accept hand written submissions. This change will ensure the on-air personalities will be able to read your announcement.

If your organization has an upcoming event, you may now submit your information on the form below, we ask that your submission be email at least 2 weeks prior to the event in order to serve you better. WIZS will be happy to post your event below and announce it on air.

A fundraiser for the New Vance County Animal Shelter will be held at its rescheduled time on Saturday March 21stĀ from 9 am until 3 pm at the old Boyd Chevrolet dealership, 284 U.S. 158 bypass in Henderson. T-Ball, Baseball and Softball registration begins Monday March 2 – Friday March 13 from 9 am until 5 pm each work day, and one Saturday only March 14th from 9 am until 2 pm. Register at Aycock Recreation Center 307 Carey Chapel Rd. in Henderson. Fee is $30 and ages for T-Ball are 5 and 6; Softball 8u, 10u, 12u, and 16u; Baseball ages 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15. Youth Baseball and Softball registration has begun for boys and girls ages 12 and under. Deadline to register is March 6, 2015 and age cutoff date for baseball is May 1, 2015, softball cutoff date Dec. 31, 2014. Entry fee for city of Oxford residents is $40, non resident $50. Aycock Elementary School located at 305 Carey Chapel Rd. in Henderson is having a Yard Sale on the front lawn of the school on Saturday March 7th from 8:00 am until 12 pm noon. All proceeds will benefit programs and services in the school. Vendors are welcome to set up tables during the yard sale for a $10.00 fee. Vendors may keep the profits from their sales. WeeBall is back for boys and girls ages 3 and 4. The coaches work on introducing the game of baseball to the kids with parents alongside for support and encouragement. The deadline to register is March 20th. Age cutoff date is May 1, 2015. Entry fee for City of Oxford residents is $30. Non residents $40. If you are late to register there is an additional $20 late fee.

A 12 week Boot Camp session will have you working off those calories using boot camp style workouts complete with cones, agility drills, medicine balls, mats and your surroundings to get fit. This class is designed for newcomers to boot camp workouts who are ready to get results in a supportive setting. The session starts April 7 until June 27 on Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 – 7:30 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Hix Gymnasium in Oxford.
