In order to ensure your public service announcement is advertised, WIZS has made a policy change. We will no longer accept hand written submissions. This change will ensure the on-air personalities will be able to read your announcement.

If your organization has an upcoming event, you may now submit your information on the form below, we ask that your submission be email at least 2 weeks prior to the event in order to serve you better. WIZS will be happy to post your event below and announce it on air.

2015 Veterans Memorial Day Service will be held on Sunday May 24th at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens 3174 US 158 Business in Henderson. Local area veterans and local area community members please come help us honor the veterans of our community.

Mount Zion Unity Holy Church Missionary Ministry Service will be held on Sunday May 24th at 4:00 PM. All are welcome to come out and join in wonderful music and fellowship.

New Horizon Baptist Church will be holding their annual BBQ chicken plate fundraiser on Friday, May 29. Plates are $8.00 each and will be available for pick up in the church parking lot located at 3490 Sterl Carrington Road in Oxford from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM. The Relay For Life Vance County will be held May 29-30 at Southern Vance High School from 3:00 PM through 12:00 PM. Lanterns can be purchased through Magnolia Williams at 252-432-3343, new lanterns cost $50.00.

The Vance County Rescue Squad with hold their 4th Annual Super Ball Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 30. Rain date Sunday May 31. It will be held at Kerr Lake Country Club 600 Hedrick Drive in Henderson, tee off time is 9:00 AM. There is a max of 25 teams with 4 members each. Entry fee is $50.00 per golfer or $200.00 per team. All entries must be received by Saturday May 23rd.  First place team wins $1500, 2nd place $1000, 3rd place $800 and 4th and 5th place $300.00.

New Hope Elementary will hold a Yard Sale Fundraiser on May 30th at the school located at 10199 NC HWY 39 N in Henderson from 7:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Bring your goods to sell and keep the money you make, table rent is $15.00 per table and donations are also accepted. Or just stop by and shop! There will be a 50/50 raffle and refreshments available for purchase.

The 17th Pastoral Anniversary of Pastor Charles Thompson Sr. will be celebrated at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the Gillburg community on Sunday, May 31 at 3:00 PM. All are invited to attend.

Greater Refuge Church of our Lord Jesus Christ – Apostolic Faith located at 1450 Americal Rd. in Henderson will have a Child Dedication and Re-Dedication Service and Community Fun Festival on Saturday June 6th from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM. There will be a Carnival Family Event at New Hope Elementary School on June 6th from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. There will be lots of food, games, prizes and lots of fun for the whole family! All funds raised during this event will go toward providing enrichment activities for the students.
