In order to ensure your public service announcement is advertised, WIZS has made a policy change. We will no longer accept hand written submissions. This change will ensure the on-air personalities will be able to read your announcement.

If your organization has an upcoming event, you may now submit your information on the form below, we ask that your submission be email at least 2 weeks prior to the event in order to serve you better. WIZS will be happy to post your event below and announce it on air.

Youth Volleyball League open to girls or boys ages 7-12 years old. This program can provide your child with everything from an introduction to volleyball to advance skills in preparation for playing on school teams. Volunteer coaches are also needed. Age divisions are 7-9 and 10-12, the season runs September through October and deadline to register is July 31st. Cost for residents: $40, non-residents: $50. Late registration fee is an extra $20. Float-in Movie will be held at Rucker Pool 5189 Old NC Hwy 75 in Oxford on Saturday August 1st at 7:30 PM. Bring a chair or float for a special poolside showing of “Finding Nemo”. You must be able to stand in the pool or wear a life jacket to watch from the water, no exceptions. Concessions will be available, no coolers allowed. Adults are $5.00 and kids 3+ are $3.00. Are you ready for the Adult Co-Ed Power Volleyball League?! Gather your friends, family or co-workers together for this competitive level league. Team entry (roster of 8) or individual entry is allowed. Games will be held at Hix Gymnasium. League dates are August 5 – Sept. 9 on Wednesdays from 6 PM until 9 PM. The Oxford Youth Cheerleading program is open to girls or boys ages 5-13. This year’s Football Cheer season is registering now. Girls will cheer one night and practice one night per week. The season runs from Sept. 21 – Nov. 13 and the games will be held at Oxford Athletic Park. Midget Squad is ages 5-8, Junior Squads are ages 9-13. Cost is $45 for resident, $55 for non-resident and includes a shirt and shorts style uniform which the child will keep. If you have been in the program before and have this uniform you will pay a lower price. Registration is July 6 – August 14th. 2015 Youth Football registration deadline is August 14th. Age divisions as of Oct. 14, 2015 are ages 4-6 Flag Football, Ages 7-9 Tackle Midgets, and Ages 10-12 Tackle Juniors. Residents are $40, Non-residents are $50 plus a late fee of $20 after Aug. 14th. Game dates are Sept. 21 – Nov 13th at Oxford Park. Draft week will be August 17 – 21st. The 15th Annual Top 50 Classic & Custom Car Show will be held at the 9th Annual NC Hot Sauce Festival on Saturday Sept. 12th from 11 AM until 4 PM in downtown Oxford. Registration at 9:30 and Judging at 11 am. Entry fee for car is $20, Model car entry: $2.00 and cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. Community Partners of Hope are looking for donations of lamps, ceiling fans, chest of drawers, bed side tables, single bed linens, gently used towels, washcloths and more. Also looking for supply lockers to secure and store clothing and personal belongings for the men of the Hope House.
