In order to ensure your public service announcement is advertised, WIZS has made a policy change. We will no longer accept hand written submissions. This change will ensure the on-air personalities will be able to read your announcement.

If your organization has an upcoming event, you may now submit your information on the form below, we ask that your submission be email at least 2 weeks prior to the event in order to serve you better. WIZS will be happy to post your event below and announce it on air.

The Sandlot Series is here for adults! Kickball starts Saturday April 25th until August 22nd at 9:00am at Rucker Park Field. Resident $5, non resident $10, team entry $60. Dodgeball will begin Saturday May 16th at 9:00 am at Hix Gym. Resident $5, non resident $10, team entry $60. And Wiffle starts Saturday June 27th until Sat. July 18th. Coast Guard Approved Boat Safety Class is being offered on Saturday, May 2nd from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM at the Henderson Vance Chamber of Commerce 414 South Garnett St.  in Henderson. To register please call 252-438-8414. The cost is $30.00 per person and each successful completion will be issued a certificate card. All boaters must have a license come July 1st 2016. Coffee and treats will be offered during the class.


Line Dance for Life is a weekly line dancing exercise program led by Matilda Bullock on Monday evenings at 5:30 pm at the Public Works Hall 127 Penn Ave in Henderson. The cost is $3 per drop in class or purchase a discounted fitness pass for the 12 week session. For more info call 919-603-1135.

The Franklin-Vance-Warren Opportunity, Inc. Head Start is accepting children for the 2015-2016 Program Year for Franklin, Vance, Warren and Granville Counties. Children must be 3 years of age as of Aug. 31st 2015. Parents of children with mental, physical or emotional impairments are encouraged to apply. The program will make special provisions to serve children with special needs. These provisions include, but are not limited to, adaptive equipment and transportation. Community Partners of Hope are looking for donations of lamps, ceiling fans, chest of drawers, bed side tables, single bed linens, gently used towels, washcloths and more. Also looking for supply lockers to secure and store clothing and personal belongings for the men of the Hope House.
