In order to ensure your public service announcement is advertised, WIZS has made a policy change. We will no longer accept hand written submissions. This change will ensure the on-air personalities will be able to read your announcement.

If your organization has an upcoming event, you may now submit your information on the form below, we ask that your submission be email at least 2 weeks prior to the event in order to serve you better. WIZS will be happy to post your event below and announce it on air.

The Brassfield Volunteer Fire Dept will hold Fireman’s Day BBQ Plate Sale on Sept. 6th from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm. The cost is $8.00 per plate, eat in or take out. The meal consists of BBQ Pork or Chicken, baked potato, slaw and hush puppies. A bake sale is also planned. The fire dept is located on NC Hwy 96, 3 miles south of Wilton beside Kelsey’s Supermarket.

The Vance Granville Community College Small Business Center has scheduled a free seminar entitled “Finding and Writing Grants” for Thursday Sept. 11th from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the college’s Warren County Campus in Warrenton. The 25th Annual Tar River Festival will be held Sat. Sept. 13th from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm in downtown Louisburg. This is open to the public, admission is free. There will be art and craft vendors, food vendors, live entertainment, games and pony rides. Also new this year, a cornhole tournament and Tractor show.

The Vance County Animal Shelter is accepting any kind of bedding or cash donations to provide for the animals. You can drop off donations Monday-Thursday from 8am – 4:30pm and Friday and Saturday 8am – 12pm.
