Due to the increase in flue cases, visitors to MPMC will temporarily be restricted in the hospital and ambulatory surgery effective immediately. Visitors are limited to immediate family members or designated adult caregivers, who have no fever, cough, or other flu-like symptoms. Patients may receive no more than 2 adult visitors at one time; children under 18 are not permitted to visit in the hospital without prior approval from healthcare providers and for special circumstances; visitors are asked to wash hands frequently; visitors with fever, cough, or other flu-like symptoms should remain at home.

A talent showcase for Vance County Schools, Arts Alive will be held at McGregor Hall on Saturday March 25th at 7:00 PM. Arts Alive is open to all who are singers, dancers, actors, musicians, spoken word artists and performers of all kinds. Auditions will be held at McGregor Hall on Breckenridge St. in Henderson on Saturday Feb. 25th and Sunday Feb. 26th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM each day. Visual art may also be accepted and will be on display during the event. Art work may be submitted to art teachers through Feb. 27th.

Vance County Schools are currently accepting pre-kindergarten applications and kindergarten registration at all elementary schools for the 2017-2018 school year. To apply for pre-kindergarten children must be 4 years old on or before August 31st. To register for kindergarten, children should be 5 years old on or before August 31st. Parents are urged to go to the elementary school in the area where they live now to register their children for the upcoming school year.
